Explore the lives and legacy of three generations of the Ramsey family, along with stories of their domestic workers, and the many people whose lives Alexander Ramsey impacted. This 1872 mansion is one of the best-preserved Victorian homes in the world, filled with over 14,000 original family objects and furnishings. This tour will highlight both political and personal stories to bring the complex world of 19th century Saint Paul to life.

  • Advanced reservations are recommended
  • Please check in at the Carriage House (adjacent to the Ramsey House) before your tour
  • Parking is available in the lot off Ramsey/Sherman Street
  • Tours are 60 minutes
  • Tours begin at 10:00 am, 11:00 am, noon, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm

Accessibility note:

  • Only the first floor of the home is fully accessible. There are 35 stairs to access the 2nd and 3rd floor
  • There is no elevator access to the second and third floor
  • Virtual tour access will be provided for those who remain on the first floor

The Irvine Park District was one of St. Paul's first residential neighborhoods. Walk with our knowledgeable guides on a tour to learn about the history of the land and architecture. You'll hear stories of the residents throughout time and take a deeper dive into the preservation efforts of this beautiful historic district.

Tours do not include house tours or self-guided access to building interiors.

All areas are accessible, but some side streets are cobblestone and have historic stone curbs.
