Minnesota Digital Newspaper Hub
The Minnesota Digital Newspaper Hub is a searchable website from the Minnesota Historical Society that makes millions of pages of Minnesota newspapers available online. The Hub contains geographically and culturally diverse newspapers published between 1849 and today, with new content added regularly. Due to potential copyright restrictions, most issues published after 1977 can only be accessed from the Gale Family Library at the Minnesota History Center. Explore the Newspaper Hub.
The newspaper titles previously included in Historical Minneapolis Tribune (1867-1922) are now incorporated into the broader Minnesota Digital Newspaper Hub.
Hundreds of Swedish-language newspapers were published in the United States from 1850 onward, catering to America's Swedish immigrant communities. Over 300,000 digitized newspaper pages from 39 different Swedish American newspaper titles published across the United States between 1857 and 2007 are now available online through this bilingual web resource. Search, view, and read the newspapers, and learn more about Swedish America through essays, photographs and recommendations for further reading.
In 2007, 2009, 2011, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022 the Minnesota Historical Society received two-year grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to participate in the National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP). This program is a partnership between the NEH and the Library of Congress to build a national digital resource of newspapers published between 1690 and 1963. Learn more.
