Hold your next meeting, lecture, class, concert, reception, luncheon, or dinner at the James J. Hill House.
For weddings, wedding receptions, birthdays, or family reunions, please consider the Minnesota History Center or Mill City Museum because the Hill House is not available for these types of events.

- Thursday - Sunday: 6 pm - 10 pm
The fee for an event is based on day, time, length, size, set-up needs, and type of function. Please complete the event inquiry form to get a quote for your event.

Other historic rooms are open for guests to see as part of your event.
- Seated dinners: 120 people maximum using both the music room and drawing room
- Theater seating: 120 people maximum using the drawing room or picture gallery
- Receptions: 400 people maximum using first floor hallway and adjacent rooms
- $75 Exclusive 30-minute tour of the Second and Third Floors of the Mansion. Up to 25 persons per tour.
- James J. Hill House has a list of prefered caterers who have succesfully worked here. However, any licensed and insured catering company may serve food and/or in the building.
- A pantry work area is available, but cooking is not allowed on the premises.
- Catering staff are responsible for removing all trash and leaving the site in a clean, orderly state. Catering equipment may not be delivered the day before or left overnight after an event. The event user selects and pays for all catering costs.
These guidelines are in place to protect the beauty of this historic site.
- No chocolate fountains or red wine.
- Decorations or signage cannot be hung on historic furnishing, woodwork, or walls.
- All candles must be flameless.
- Glitter, confetti, flower petals cannot be used.
- If balloon bunches are used, they must be weighted with something other than sand. Helium-filled mylar balloons are not allowed in the building and will be removed by staff if brought in.
- Fog machines, bubble and foam machines are not allowed.
Street parking is available along Summit Avenue in front of the Hill House. Parking is not allowed on the Hill House property.
